As we were randomly driving on the route Napoléon, we stopped in the Hautes-Alpes department for a break. Goat tomme from the Col Bayard dairy, a bottle of wine from the Domaine Allemand in Valserres, Rostain organic charcuterie from Neffes, and apples from Tallard turned our picnic into a feast. That break was so delicious that we decided to come back and stay there during our next holidays.
Lake Serre-Ponçon was our destination. Imagine a sea surrounded by mountains. The children were delighted to play by the lake, and so were we when hiking in the Écrins National Park. The landlord of our holiday rental convinced us to come back in winter, and we spent a week in a ski resort in the Briançon area. What a surprise! Everything was so... different. Different colours, landscape, activities, and... temperatures! But we still found the same beautiful blue sky and sunshine.
