Lacanau: a postcard setting and cuisine as tasty as it is varied

The seaside resort of Lacanau is located in Gironde on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. It has around 4,500 inhabitants and covers a vast area of 214 square kilometres. Lacanau is surrounded by Carcans to the north, Le Porge to the south and Saint-Hélène to the east. It is part of the Côte d'Argent, a coastal area stretching from the Gironde estuary to the Adour estuary. For sunbathing, head for the super sud beach or Lacanau nord, which is as popular in summer as it is deserted the rest of the year! Naturists can soak up the sun on the hard-to-reach but beautiful Plage du Lion. If you're looking for a change of scenery and a change of scenery, take a walk in the large forest. You'll come across maritime pines and holm oaks, and with a bit of luck you may sneak a glimpse of a few roe deer.
