As you walk through the old town, admire the old characterful buildings with slate roofs and learn about the history of the town, formerly under the authority of the Grimaldi princes of Monaco. Enter the Parc de la Source, admire its magnificent trees, stop at the kiosk to drink mineral water, renowned for its digestive properties. Continue your thermal journey with a stop at the Maison des Eaux Minérales. Vic-sur-Cère is a pleasant town where you will find shops and leisure facilities: water park, mini-golf, casino, etc. Every Tuesday and Friday morning, take your basket to go to the local producers' market, a great way to discover local specialties in a friendly atmosphere. All around Vic-sur-Cère, hiking trails will guide you through forests, along rivers, gorges or towards panoramic viewpoints over the Cantal mountains. Want a little family stroll? The Trou de la Conche waterfall is a pretty waterfall dug into a gap, a 15-minute walk from the church. From Le Gîte Les 3 chemins, you can easily go to the Gorges du Pas de Cère, a magnificent little corner of wild nature. The Pas de Cère Gorges were shaped by volcanic activity more than 20,000 years ago. You will access it via a landscaped path along the river. A mobile application for children allows you to do a fun and educational treasure hunt. Not far from there, admire the Roucolle waterfall. From the Pas de Cère area, between Thiézac and Vic-sur-Cère, a viewpoint overlooks the waterfall and juts out above the void, impressive! The Cantal mountains, in the Auvergne Volcanoes Regional Natural Park, offer multiple options for short and long hikes. On foot or by mountain bike, you will be amazed by the beauty of the landscapes of the Cantal volcano. The Lioran station is one of the gateways to the Cantal massif. Summer and winter alike, the resort offers a wonderful playground for mid-mountain lovers: skiing, tobogganing, snowshoeing, paragliding, mountain biking, hiking trails galore... Plomb du Cantal, the highest point of the department, is accessible from Lioran station, by cable car or on foot. At an altitude of 1,855 m, you will even more appreciate the 360° panorama of the largest volcano in Europe. Orientation table at the summit and numerous hiking possibilities. The Prat de Bouc pass, at 1,396 m altitude, backed by the Plomb du Cantal, is a remarkable natural site, ideal for observing migratory birds in the fall. It is also a place to practice nature sports (cross-country skiing, mountain biking, etc.). Accompanied nature outings will allow you to discover the mountain fauna and flora. Find out more at the Col du Prat de Bouc reception center. Puy Griou, the sharpest summit of the Cantal mountains or Puy Mary, classified as a Grand Site de France, could be part of your escapades. As much as the ascent of Puy Griou is a bit technical over the last few meters, that of Puy Mary is easy since a path is set up (from Pas de Peyrol). The visit to Puy Mary can be combined with that of the medieval town of Salers, 25 km away. The road is winding, but reveals beautiful views of the valleys. Salers, classified among the Most Beautiful Villages in France, is also renowned for its cows and its cheese. If you are a heritage lover, take the time to visit, 7 km from Vic-sur-Cère, the Pesteils castle in Polminhac. Its 40 meter high rectangular keep, the last vestige of the old medieval fortress, has watched over the Cère valley for almost 800 years. The visit recounts the transformation of the castle over the centuries. Numerous summer activities. Aurillac, the prefecture of Cantal, 20 km from Vic-sur-Cère, is famous for its international street theater festival (in August) and for its century-old umbrella factory. Stroll along the Jordanne, discover Place Saint-Géraud, its church, the private mansions from the 15th to the 18th century, as well as the Château Saint-Etienne. End your day by tasting truffade, a local specialty made from tome and potatoes, in one of the city's restaurants. Whether you want to take advantage of the proximity of Vic-sur-Cère or explore the Cantal mountains, one thing is certain during your vacation at Gite Les 3 chemins you will not be bored. The hardest part will be making a choice among the many options available to you!
