Apartment at the Abbey of Trizay – Charm and History for 6 Guests Stay in a unique setting at the heart of the Romanesque Abbey of Trizay (11th and 12th centuries) and enjoy the tranquility of this historic site. This bright and comfortable apartment is perfect for a family vacation or a getaway with friends. Situated on the first floor, the apartment is fully equipped with modern conveniences, including a kitchen with an oven and microwave, a cozy living room with a television, and a bathroom with separate WC. 4 gîtes nichés au sein de ce prieuré, fondé au tournant des XIe / XIIe s., qui dépendait de la puissante abbaye de la Chaise-Dieu en Auvergne. Entièrement restauré dans les années 1990, c’est un des monuments romans les plus énigmatiques de la Saintonge. L’église, dont subsiste le chevet, est conçue sur un plan octogonal exceptionnel. A voir aussi : la salle capitulaire avec ses arcs polylobés et ses belles croisées d’ogives du XIIIe s., le cellier, le vaste réfectoire avec ses peintures murales et, à l’étage, les dortoirs des moines ornés de fresques, les vitraux contemporains de Richard Texier et du Père Kim En Joong. Un jardin médiéval présente des essences végétales cultivées en France entre le IXe et XIVe s. Le centre d’art contemporain à l’abbaye propose toute l’année un dialogue permanent entre le monument roman et les artistes d’aujourd’hui
