Welcome to the Domaine des Farguettes! Our old barn dating from the 17th century has been completely renovated by an architect to guarantee maximum comfort to our visitors. With its 180m², our gîte can accommodate up to 10 people. Each bedroom has its own shower room or private bath, and those on the ground floor open directly onto the terrace, protected by a pergola, leading to the naturally heated swimming pool and the wooded garden. Our location is ideal for discovering the Vallée de l'Homme and the gastronomic heritage of the South-West. We are located just 5 minutes from the Dordogne, where you can visit major sites such as Lascaux, the Gouffre de Proumeyssac, the Font-de-Gaume Cave, the National Museum of Prehistory, the Château des Milandes, la Roque St Christophe, the Marqueyssac Gardens, the Château de Beynac, etc. You will also find local shops and gourmet addresses nearby. The Domaine des Farguettes is located in the heart of the Périgord Noir, the richest region in terms of historical heritage, where all the sites of prehistory can be found, the medieval castles, the most beautiful bastides such as Monpazier, the most famous abbeys such as Cadoin. We are west of Sarlat, south of Périgueux, and east of Bergerac, the three towns that delimit the golden triangle of the Dordogne. The site is in the middle of an area of nearly 15 hectares surrounded by woods and meadows where you can observe deer, hear the roar of the deer, the pecking of the green woodpecker, see among others hoopoe, robin, jay, little duke... The gîte L'Oragée, its swimming pool and its dovecote, are in a dominant position, facing the Dordogne, with a breathtaking view of the Vallée de l'Homme over more than 180°. You will be able to see the neighboring villages of Audrix, Siorac, Coux, Limeuil and Mouzens... The white limestone path which first crosses a forest of chestnut trees and oaks, then opens onto a landscape of rolling meadows, cedars, lime trees, plane trees and cypresses, will take you to our lodge. All the accommodation and outdoor spaces are accessible to you, with the exception of our high house which remains private, unless we organize a welcome drink or a convivial meal there.
