We will be delighted to welcome you to our high-end log cabin, _The Lodge By Fjords Malfournier_, built in 2023, at the heart of our Fjord horse breeding farm in Saint-Jean-en-Val, just 11km from Issoire. We have designed this wooden cabin as a warm retreat where you can relax and rejuvenate. Our aim is to offer a high-quality, unique stay in an idyllic setting, allowing you to discover the beauty of our region, Auvergne, and, if you wish, our Fjord horse breeding farm! To ensure your relaxation in a comfortable and authentic home, filled with antique objects, without compromising on comfort and visual pleasure, you will have a spacious living room of over 40m2 that opens onto a south-facing terrace with a hot tub. There are also three bedrooms (2 with a 160cm bed, 1 with 2 90cm beds), including a master suite on the ground floor, and one bathroom on the first floor." In the heart of the Issoire region, on the comforts of the Massif du Sancy, come and discover the Puy-de-Dôme and its volcanoes, the Auvergne and its gastronomy, winter sports and swimming in our natural lakes. We offer, in addition to access to the jacuzzi, high-quality services: a tour of our breeding farm, provision of equestrian facilities for riders coming with their own horses, horse-related training sessions, aesthetic treatments, and the option to use bicycles. L’arrivée est prévue entre 17H et 19H. Si vous prévoyez d’arriver en dehors de ces horaires, veuillez-nous en informer à l’avance pour que nous puissions organiser votre accueil. Lors de votre arrivée, nous nous ferons un plaisir de vous accueillir et de vous faire visiter le gîte comme de vous présenter les installations. Nous serons également ravis de répondre à vos questions et de vous donner des recommandations sur les attractions locales. Deux places de stationnement sont disponibles devant le gîte. Veillez à respecter les espaces réservés et à ne pas déborder sur la route. Il est plus facile de se garer en marche arrière. Nous avons préparé les chambres avec le plus grand soin. Si vous avez des besoins spécifiques, n’hésitez pas à nous en informer à l’avance pour que nous puissions vous accueillir au mieux. Pensez également à nous demander le lit bébé si vous en avez besoin !

In the heart of the Livradois-Forez Regional Natural Park, rich in its varied landscapes and its many hikes, you can discover the town of Issoire 10 minutes away, the mining past of Auvergne by visiting the mining museum in Brassac les Mines, discover Usson, one of the most beautiful villages in France, or visit the magnificent Château de Parentignat. Thiers, the capital of cutlery, is within reach of a knife's throw to discover its rich history spanning 5 centuries. If Auvergne gastronomy and cheeses are a passion, don't miss Ambert and its famous Fourme d'Ambert and especially visit Saint Nectaire and its maturing cellars to discover and taste the king of Auvergne cheeses. The town of Clermont Ferrand, located at the foot of the Puy de Dôme, is less than 1 hour away and will offer you numerous discoveries and activities including the Michelin Adventure, the Panoramique des Dômes, Vulcania, the Gergovie plateau. The Chaine des Puys with its ancient volcanoes, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, will also be available to you in 1 hour to help you discover its magnificent mountain landscapes, its livestock, its skiing, its numerous lakes and its many hikes.

We are two veterinarians who have owned Fjords for 30 years and are in love with this breed. In 2014, we realized a crazy dream, a childhood dream: to set up our own Fjord horses breeding farm in Saint-Jean-En-Val, in Auvergne (63). In 2018, we built our first log house to make it our home, refusing to distort the landscape and the hamlet by adding a modern building in the middle of the traditional habitats. We then discovered the warmth and the change of scenery offered by this raw log construction, its comfort, its perfect integration into the local landscape and nature, among our horses, the way it was easy to combine the old and the modern to furnish and/or decorate it. When we started thinking about building the cottage, it was quite natural that we wanted to share this unique experience with our future guests. The project of a log lodge was born!
