Description
Le Gîte des Bouleaux is part of a property comprising two gîtes and an annex, all independent. Located in a hamlet in the countryside, near a farm, it benefits from a natural and relaxing environment. You will stay in the south-west of Cantal, 8 km from Arpajon-sur-Cère, near Aurillac. It is an ideal gateway to explore the hilly landscapes of the Cantal Châtaigneraie as well as the summits, ridges and plateaus of the Cantal mountains. Farm cottage for 6 to 10 people, 15 km from Aurillac The Gîte des Bouleaux occupies a characterful 18th century house with slate roof, characteristic of the region. The house has been transformed into a very comfortable gîte, with a 4 key classification. The renovation was carried out respecting traditions, with quality materials. The harmony between stone and wood gives the whole thing an authentic and warm atmosphere that will seduce you as soon as you arrive. In the common living room, on the ground floor, the renovation revealed the stone walls and exposed beams. A wood stove is installed in the inglenook fireplace, the large stone fireplace. To enjoy a good fire, wood is offered. The living room area, with sofa and television, adjoins the dining room fitted out with a table that can accommodate up to 20 guests. The adjoining kitchen is independent. It is fully equipped and has a real dining area with table and chairs. A laundry room with washing machine and dryer, and a separate toilet complete the layout of the ground floor. Upstairs, you will have 3 bedrooms with wooden floors. The master suite is equipped with a double bed (160 cm), a convertible sofa and a private bathroom. The second bedroom has a double bed (140 cm), the third has 2 single beds (90 cm). A bathroom with walk-in shower is dedicated to these rooms to ensure your comfort. The beds are made upon your arrival, sheets, as well as household linen and towels, are provided. Equipment (high chairs, bathtubs, etc.) for babies and young children are available, barriers secure the stairs. On request, the owners can provide 4 additional beds (folding beds) free of charge, bringing the capacity to 10 people. If you need more beds, you have the possibility to use the annex located in front of the house, at an additional cost. The garden is designed to offer you a space conducive to relaxation and leisure. Garden furniture, parasol, barbecue, pétanque court and swing are at your disposal. Mountain bike, motorcycle and quad enthusiasts are welcome at Gîte des Bouleaux. During your stay, the owners of the gîte will be keen to welcome you in the best conditions and in a friendly atmosphere. They will show you hiking routes in the forest departing from the gîte. Good to know Cleaning at the end of your stay is charged €100. Pets are not allowed. For a family or friendly gathering, the 2 gîtes (Les Bouleaux and Les Chênes) and the annex can be rented together. Capacity for 18 people. Nature, heritage and adventures in their purest form in Cantal If you are looking for a holiday destination combining historical heritage, preserved nature and varied activities, pack your bags at Gîte des Bouleaux, you will not be disappointed. The Cère, the river which crosses the commune of Arpajon, is ideal for fishing and walking activities. It borders the city center, and in the summer, taverns liven up the banks on Friday evenings. At the Moulin de la Cère, along the main avenue, exhibitions are organized during the summer period. A visit to the botanical garden of La Plantelière, or a hike to Puy de Vaurs (8 km circuit) will allow you to discover the natural and landscape heritage of the region. To combine sport and discovery of the landscapes, why not let yourself be tempted by a mountain bike outing? Two routes are marked around Arpajon. The Carbonat circuit (12 km) is relatively easy, it winds partly around the Vezac golf course. More technical, the Le Bois Grand circuit (15 km) is reserved for experienced mountain bikers. Two remarkable natural sites, located around twenty km from Gîte des Bouleaux, are worth a visit. The Pas de Cère discovery trail, leaving from Vic-sur-Cère, is a family hike (5 km) which will allow you to walk along the riverside in a preserved natural environment. The Gorges de la Jordanne, in Saint-Cirgues-de-Jordanne, is a route (4 km return) which will plunge you through gorges from 20 m to 60 m deep. Young and old will be able to test their knowledge of nature and animals thanks to fun terminals. The Cantal mountains in the Volcanoes Regional Natural ParkAuvergne, form the largest volcano in Europe. Their preserved landscapes, made up of summits, ridges and plateaus, can be discovered on foot or by mountain bike. The winding roads are particularly popular with cyclists and motorcyclists. From the summit of Puy Mary (1,787 m), classified as a Grand Site de France, or Plomb du Cantal (1,855 m), the panorama is breathtaking. In this grandiose setting, you can take magnificent hikes. To find out the marked hiking routes, several tools are at your disposal: Espace Nature Puy Mary mobile application and topo guide. You can also go to the Maison de Site du Pas de Peyrol, it is located at the foot of the path which leads to Puy Mary. If you choose to discover the Cantal mountains from Plomb du Cantal, you will pass through the Lioran station. This family resort offers outdoor activities, both in summer and winter. Take advantage of your stay in Arpajon to explore the charming villages of Marcolès (25 km from your gîte), Montsalvy (30 km) and Salers (45 km). Ranked among the Most Beautiful Villages in France, Salers is renowned for its medieval and Renaissance architecture, its cheese and its cows. Just 15 km from your gîte, Le Château de Pesteils in Polminhac offers free or guided tours and numerous activities. The panorama of the Cantal mountains and the Cère Valley from the castle is one of the attractions of the site. The Saint-Géraud abbey church, the Renaissance-style Hôtel des Consuls, the Aurinques chapel, the medieval Saint-Étienne castle or the former Visitandines convent converted into an Art and Archeology Museum, Aurillac is rich in its architectural heritage. You can dedicate a day there and enhance your visit with a gastronomic break in one of the city's restaurants.
