Every evening of the summer, the esplanade of the Place des Aires becomes a convivial place decorated and animated where it is pleasant to taste grilled sardines, escabèche, donuts, mussels sauce marinières, piquant and roquefort, Grilled swordfish with Provencal sauce, fries ... accompanied by a glass of wine from the cellar of St Julien les Martigues. Sweets: Italian ice-creams, fancy cuts: banana Split, Liège coffee ... Nutella crêpes, sugar, jam .... Crepe crêpes
Musical entertainment every Tuesday and Thursday. Invented at Martigues, the Sardinades are those strokes of genius which come from the simplest ideas.
The Municipality imagines this event in August 1985, in a context of over-abundance of sardines, to the point that the fishermen are subsidized to throw them back into the sea. The city then has the idea to benefit the population: rather than see the Delicious blue-silver fish get lost at sea, better to see them disappear in the palaces of the amateurs of the corner!

Some creeks require dexterity at the wheel: to reach those of Ensuès, Niolon and La Vesse, small roads plunge in tight laces!
