In the town, you will find many shops and activities to relax: leisure park (play area for children, walks along the Cère, skate park, etc.) aquatic center in summer, mini-golf, tennis courts or even a casino. The mineral springs of Vic sur Cère have made the town's reputation. This activity is now a thing of the past. Today, the bottling plant has become the Maison des Eaux. As you enter the Parc de la Source, you can admire the Drinkers’ Kiosk where the mineral water flows at 12°. During a stroll through the streets of the ancient spa town, you will appreciate beautiful residences including the so-called Maison de la Reine Margot or the Maison des Princes de Monaco. This house built in the 16th century testifies to the historical and political link between Carladès and the Monaco principality. The Route des Châteaux is an excellent way to discover the Carladès region and the must-see sites around Vic-sur-Cère. This 68 km circuit, in 5 stages, was developed by the Carladès tourist office. The departure is from Vic-sur-Cère. The Rocher des Pendus in Saint Clément (step 1). Despite its unwelcoming name, in the Middle Ages it was a place of execution, a stop is essential to discover the magnificent panorama of the Cère valley and the Cantal mountains. An orientation table will guide you in identifying the surrounding peaks. To reach the rock, follow the marked path starting from Col de Curebourse. A 45-minute round-trip family hike. The Notre Dame de l’Assomption Church in Jou sous Monjou (step 2). This Romanesque church was built during the 12th century. With its comb bell tower and its slate roof, it is typical of Cantal. Take the time to observe the ornaments (modillions) which support the cornice under the roof. Fantastic or grotesque, animal or human figures are sculpted in stone. Raulhac, Small City of Character (step 3). Narrow streets, opulent houses made of volcanic stone and slate roofs, an imposing Romanesque church, a fountain, a wash house... in Raulhac, it's good to stroll. Around the village, you can see the teau de Messilhac, the Château de Cropières, the Château de Valduchez and the tower of the Château de Puechmouriez. The Rocher de Ronesque (step 4) Walking this rock is like walking on an ancient lava flow! Explanatory panels allow you to discover more about this geological phenomenon reminiscent of the volcanic nature of Cantal. The rock is an excellent observation point over the Cantal massif. The Château de Pesteils in Polminhac (step 5). Perched on its steep rock, at an altitude of 750 meters, the castle of Pesteil proudly dominates the village of Polminhac. A 40 meter high dungeon, gardens, activities for children and adults, free or guided tours, the castle is worth a stop. As a bonus, enjoy the magnificent panorama of the Cantal mountains and the Cère Valley. Vic sur Cère is located in the Auvergne Volcanoes Regional Natural Park. Hiking or horse riding, mountain biking, cycle tourism, fishing or skiing, you can satisfy your passions in any season. At the Lioran resort, just 20 km from your vacation rental, you can enjoy a mountain of activities, both winter and summer. Located at the foot of Plomb du Cantal, the resort is the starting point for hikes to the Cantal peaks. Developed trails allow downhill mountain biking in complete safety. Alpine skiing, Nordic skiing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, sledging, ice rink... this family resort will delight young and old alike during the winter season. Do you appreciate wild and green landscapes? Around Vic-sur-Cère, discover the Pas de Cère gorges, the Faillitoux waterfall and the Cantal mountains (Puy Griou, Puy Mary, Pas de Cère, Plomb du Cantal). Let yourself be tempted by an authentic and rejuvenating vacation in Carladès!
