The advantages of the accommodation
Description
This group accommodation in a completely renovated barn welcomes you to the pleasant hamlet of Vezou, in Paulhenc. You will stay in a modern and bright cottage, with 12 beds, complete with a heated outdoor swimming pool. Located between the Cantal mountains and the Truyère gorges, La grange du Vezou is ideal for organizing family reunions, holidays with friends or a sports gathering. A BARN TRANSFORMED INTO A CHARMING COTTAGE FOR 12 PEOPLE NEAR PIERREFORT It's hard not to fall under the spell of La grange du Vezou with its beautiful slate roof and stone walls. The transformation of this character building has managed to preserve the authenticity of the existing building while infusing it with comfort and modernity. In this 180 m² vacation rental, the living rooms are upstairs and most of the night rooms are on the ground floor. You enter the gîte either through the front door on the ground floor or by the staircase that leads to the suspended terrace. Light wood on the walls and sobriety of the decoration are in order in the 3 bedrooms on the ground floor. A first bedroom has 2 single beds (90 x 190 cm). A second bedroom, which communicates with the bedroom-dormitory, has a double bed (140 X 190 cm). A French window gives access to a covered terrace. The dormitory room has a capacity of 6 beds and also has access to the outside. It consists of 3 single beds lined up and a bunk bed for 3 people. The top bed (90 x 190 cm) can accommodate one person while 2 people can sleep in the bottom bed (140 x 190 cm). The bathroom, with its two beautiful walk-in showers and its double basin, combines comfort and practicality. The large bay window, pierced upstairs, brings natural light and offers direct access to the outdoor terrace. Placed on wooden stilts, this suspended terrace covers the terrace below and blends smoothly into the landscape. It naturally extends the living room and on sunny days, you can take your meals there while enjoying the view of the garden and the swimming pool. The floor is organized around a large open and bright space. The renovation revealed the beauty of the framework and the high ceilings. The presence of raw wood, cladding on the walls, creates a warm atmosphere. The decoration, sober and neat, mixes contemporary accents and rustic touches. In the 80 m² living room, a cozy XXL sofa is the centerpiece of the living room. You will take your meals facing the kitchen, around a large convivial table. Functional and contemporary, the independent kitchen is equipped with a central island. You will find everything you need to cook for your tribe. The presence of several windows multiplies the views of the surrounding countryside. The rest of the floor is occupied by a bedroom and an adjoining bathroom. The cottage is also equipped with a washing machine and a dryer. Outside, within the grounds of the property, you can lie by the pool, enjoy its heated water and admire the surrounding countryside. To discover the natural and picturesque landscape of the Truyère gorges, the steep and wooded slopes of the immense submerged valley, several stops are essential. From the Turlande site, you will enjoy a magnificent view of the Truyère gorges and Sarrans lake. The rock and the Romanesque chapel overlook the gorges and reveal grandiose views. It is accessed from the hamlet of Laborie. The Gorges du Vezou hike, of a fairly difficult level, draws a loop of 15 km, and passes through the site of Turlande. The Laussac peninsula, in Thérondels, is a very pleasant little corner of greenery for swimming. Nature and sports activities (canoeing, boats, zip lines, etc.) are offered in the summer. It is also a popular fishing spot. Sainte-Marie is a small village perched above the gorges. It has a suspension bridge that crosses the Truyère and a ferruginous mineral spring of the Fon del Sal or salt fountain. A belvedere is set up on the road between Sainte-Geneviève-sur-Argence and Brommat, you can walk above the Sarrans dam to admire the extent of the lake. The Garabit railway viaduct is one of the gateways to the Truyère gorges. 564 meters long and 122 meters high, this work of art by Gustave Eiffel is worth a detour. A highlight of the site, the schedules vary according to the season, reveals the beauty of the iron giant. Basaltic high plateaus, cirques and glacial valleys: the Cantal mountains are part of the volcanic sites of the Auvergne Volcanoes Regional Natural Park. From the Prat de Bouc pass, you can walk towards Plomb du Cantal, the highest peak in the department at 1,855 meters. From the Lioran station, you can reach it by cable car. The panorama over the peaks of the Massif Central: Puy Griou, Puy Mary, Puy de Sancy… is exceptional. The Brezons valley is punctuated by waterfalls resulting from volcanic lava flows. On foot, several marked routes allow you to discover the La Borie, Montreal and Croûtes waterfalls. By car, follow the tourist circuit of the valley between Saint-Martin-sous-Vigouroux and the Col de la Griffoul. From the Col du Pas de Peyrol, a landscaped path will take you to the summit of Puy Mary, classified as a Grand Site de France. At 1,787 meters, you will be struck by the beauty of the landscapes of the Cantal volcano. At the foot of the trail, the Pas de Peyrol site house will inform you about hikes and activities to do in the region. 20 km away is Salers, listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France. A charming village which owes its reputation as much to its medieval and Renaissance heritage as to the riches of its terroir: AOP cheese and meat of the Salers cattle breed. Closer to your vacation rental, the only spa town of Cantal Chaudes-Aigues is a curiosity. It has 32 hot springs. The Par spring, which gushes out at 82°C, is the hottest in Europe. The Geothermal Museum tells the story of the city and the use of hot water. In the Pays de Saint Flour, a visit to Saint-Flour is a must! And you won't be disappointed. This city of Art and History is perched on a rocky promontory and consists of a lower town and an upper town. To connect them, you can take the 330 steps of the Chemin des Chèvres. The circuit of the historic center and the circuit of the ramparts allow you to stroll through the city. The Museum of Haute Auvergne or the Alfred Douët Museum, which houses a collection of art and decorative objects, are interesting visits. Guided tours, walks, activities for children, exhibitions, meetings... Saint Flour is a lively town! Do not leave without having tasted the blond lentils and the sweet pie of Saint Flour.
