The 6-hectare property is entirely enclosed by hedges and walls and overlooks the valley of the little river La Braye, away from the small town of Bessé-sur-Braye. The owners themselves will welcome you to this charming gîte, which has been completely refurbished and reopened in 2024.

This 110 m² holiday rental offers very spacious living rooms and bedrooms on 2 floors, equipped with the very best facilities. The owners have taken great care to select materials, linens and equipment that are made in France and environmentally friendly.

The icing on the cake: a heated swimming pool in season and other leisure facilities, not to mention walks around the large enclosed property.

In the same village of Bessé-sur-Braye, don't miss a visit to the Châteaux de Courtanvaux, a walk along the greenway or a few strides on the fitness trail. Within a 1-hour drive, you can visit Le Mans, Vendôme, Tours, La Flèche, Châteaudun, etc.

• The owners

Isabelle and her husband have fallen in love with the Domaine de la Gavelorie, which they look after day after day. The grounds include the château where they live, as well as outbuildings, including the gîte in which you will be staying. As you stroll past the flower-filled terraces, the lanes lined with century-old lime trees will lead you to the small family vegetable garden, then to the sloping pastures offering uninterrupted views of some of the neighbouring private residences.

• A brief history :

Domaine de la Gavolerie has been occupied since the 17th century by Camaldolese monks, who built living quarters and an abbey. The French Revolution sealed the fate of La Gavolerie once and for all: in 1793, the monastery buildings were demolished to make way for today's Château de La Gavolerie. Only the gîte and adjoining buildings remain from this period.
